Make sure your student has reviewed his or her graduation eligibility with the Office of the Registrar. Your student can do so by visiting my.wisc.edu, logging into the Student Center, clicking on “My Academics,” and then clicking on “Apply for graduation.” Your student should also verify the mailing address listed in the Student Center as his or her diploma will be mailed to that address.

All commencement ceremonies are held in the Kohl Center, 601 W. Dayton Street, and will last about two hours. There is no limit on the number of people attending, no tickets are required, and the ceremonies are free. The ceremonies will be held on Friday, May 17; Saturday, May 18; and Sunday, May 19. The ceremony your student attends depends on his or her major and the degree-granting school or college. You can find your student’s graduation ceremony date and time in this listing.

Students need to rent or purchase caps and gowns from the University Book Store in person at 711 State Street or online. For more information about commencement attire, parking, accessible seating, accommodations for participants or guests with disabilities, and other questions, visit the Office of the Secretary of the Faculty website or call 608-262-3956.
