One of the inevitabilities of college is that students do get sick. Whether it’s a slight cold or something more serious, it’s always in a student’s best interest to be proactive and protect against illness as the semester progresses. Studies have shown that flu illnesses in particular can have a significant impact on a student’s academic progress.

To help keep our campus healthy, University Health Services offers (UHS) free satellite flu shot clinics across campus during the fall semester. These clinics are designed to reach students anywhere across campus—no matter where they live.

UHS offers free walk-in flu shots for students. Students can go to the 6th floor of the main UHS building on East Campus Mall, Monday through Friday, from 9 a.m.–4:30 p.m. Students will need to show a student ID, and the should wear shirts with easy-to-roll-up sleeves. After November 15, students must schedule appointments.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention recommends that everyone six months of age and older get an annual seasonal influenza vaccination. Anyone who wishes to reduce the chances of catching the flu should be vaccinated. Those with chronic conditions — such as asthma, diabetes, or immune disorders — that may put them at increased risk for complications of influenza are especially encouraged to get a flu shot every year.

We encourage you to get more information about the flu and flu shot locations.
